Itinerary

May 3 (L,D) Depart via deluxe motor coach for Charlotte, NC with a lunch stop in Greenville, SC. Dinner and overnight at the Embassy Suites. Visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame, including driving simulator experience.

May 4 (B,L,D) Morning visit to Billy Graham Library and Museum with lunch at the library included. Then we head to The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV for two days of absolute luxury. Dinner included.

May 5 (B,D) In the morning we will tour the once secret bunker that was created to shelter Congress in case of nuclear attack. The afternoon is free for relaxing, shopping, golf or doing absolutely nothing. In the evening we will enjoy another elegant dinner and the evening is free for enjoying music, dancing the casino or just relaxing.

May 6 (B,L) Today we visit Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home and have lunch at the centuries old Michie Tavern. Overnight in Charlottesville at the Hyatt Place Hotel with opportunity for shopping and dinner on your own at The Shops at Stonefield.

May 7 (B,L,D) We visit Fort McHenry and learn the story of the Star Spangled Banner before checking into the Marriott Renaissance Inner Harbor Hotel. Dinner for the evening is a traditional Maryland crab banquet with ribs, chicken and plenty of blue crabs at a setting overlooking the harbor.

May 8 (B,L) Today we visit the US Naval Academy for a private tour and luncheon in the elegant Naval Academy Club room. The afternoon is free to explore the harbor area. If the Orioles are playing at home we will take in a ball game at Camden Yards in the evening.

May 9 (B,L,D) Today we head north to Delaware and visit two of the DuPont Mansions and Museums. In the evening we check into The DuPont Hotel, one of the most elegant hotels in the country, where we will enjoy an upscale dinner in the fabulous Blue Room.

May 10 (B,L,D) We head south today to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We will cross the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel-bridge and have lunch at the acclaimed local café The Shanty. After lunch we head to Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks for two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn oceanfront hotel. The evening meal is our highly popular Glenn Cook pizza party.

May 11 (B,D) Today will be a great day as we visit the Wright Brothers Memorial at Kitty Hawk, enjoy the sand dunes at Jockey Ridge, stop for lunch on your own and shopping at Manteo, site of the Lost Colony of Roanoke and then visit the tallest lighthouse on the east coast at Cape Hatteras. Dinner this evening is the scrumptious Captain George’s buffet.

May 12 (B) This morning we board the bus for a short drive to Norfolk to catch our flight home to Atlanta.
